review

The soundtrack is awesome! Chris Pratt does not do much for me, but I did manage to catch a hot screen shot. The funny thing is I don’t remember; I thought I had taken a picture of Mark Ruffalo in The Avengers: Age of Ultron. I guess I was wrong. 😀

The story was kind of weak, once again, having the feeling like we just dropped in for an episode of Home and Gardens presents “Breakfast with The Ricardo’s.” The only difference, is that I don’t think I would be receptive to some space food. Anyway, I remember being bounced around the clouds, try to figure something out. When the root of the plot is revealed, I still had some questions.

Did I mention how awesome the soundtrack is for this movie?

Joy (2015)

Joysynopsis

JOY is the wild story of a family across four generations centered on the girl who becomes the woman who founds a business dynasty and becomes a matriarch in her own right. Betrayal, treachery, the loss of innocence and the scars of love, pave the road in this intense emotional and human comedy about becoming a true boss of family and enterprise facing a world of unforgiving commerce. Allies become adversaries and adversaries become allies, both inside and outside the family, as Joy’s inner life and fierce imagination carry her through the storm she faces. Jennifer Lawrence stars, with Robert De Niro, Bradley Cooper, Edgar Ramirez, Isabella Rossellini, Diane Ladd, Virginia Madsen, Elisabeth Röhm and Dascha Polanco. Like David O. Russell’s previous films, Joy defies genre to tell a story of family, loyalty, and love.

review

Of remark is how shitty Joy’s family treated her, while she was so helpful to all. I would hardly call this a comedy, more of a family drama.
